Client Development Boards

Overview

A Development Board is a shared, online resource for managing software development requests. It replaces the need for sending and tracking requests by email or zendesk, and provides a platform for discussing requirements in more detail prior to costing, as well as tracing it through to development.

Board Layout

There are seven Lists which can contain one or many Cards, and each of these cards can represent a specific development request.

Change Requests

New Cards are added here by the Client and each should include an unique reference and short description as a minimum. Other material can be provided in the form of screenshots, word documents, spreadsheets and so on.

Note: Until moved to Ready for Assessment the Card may sit in this List until the Client wishes to proceed.

Ready for Assessment

Cards will be moved to this List and the relevant person notified when additional information is needed, The Card will stay in this List until all the information needed to complete the assessment has been gathered.

Assessment Complete

A member of the Hivedome Team will move Cards to this List when they have the information needed to complete the assessment.

Client Ready for Estimate

Clients will move Cards to this List when they are happy for the work to be estimated by Hivedome.

Estimate Provided

Hivedome will either move existing Cards to this List with an attached estimate (HQ) unless labelled as 'TMA'

Client Approval

Clients will move Cards to this List when they authorise the estimate signalling the wish to proceed with the development.

Ready to Release

Hivedome will move Cards to this List when the development has been completed. Clients can then request deployment.

About Notifications, Members and Labels

  • Members can be invited to collaborate on the board by email invitation
  • Members can be attached to Cards to receive notifications of changes to that Card
  • Members can also be notified of a new change to the Card by adding their username '@exampleUser' in a comment on the Card
  • Members can also 'Watch' lists (menu option in the ... menu at the top of a list), this will notify the member of any changes to that List
  • As each board has a private team, only invited members will be able to see information on this board
  • Where applicable Cards can be labelled as 'TMA' to denote that time spent on dealing with the task will be managed under a TMA budget
