PQIS - Product Quality Instructions

What is PQIS

PQIS are the procedures for maintaining the Quality details needed by manufacturing systems e.g. manual mixing, ATH Autoterm. These details are also needed in the ITAS Quality Management Reporting (DELREP). ATH is a process control system used in various installations using plc technology to control the opening/closure of valves for the production of specific product qualities, typically Molasses mixes.

There are 3 features in PQIS;
a) Tanks Analysis ... regular quality sampling/testing results are maintained in ITAS to describe the current contents of each stock unit e.g. brix, total sugars, estimated $ PMT and many other factors
b) Target Quality ... feature used to describe the essential elements that comprise a specific quality/blend. This target information is often derived from other specialist software or from the local knowledge of a feed engineer. The target qualities are fixed codes (PHYSCODES/Quality) that are then associated with each Installation/depot where the user describes the minimum and maximum content for the product mix to be determined e.g. TSAS, Brix, Cane sugar See Technical for glossary
c) PQIS table ... this feature activates the solver process to calculate pumping instructions, review/amend the results from the solver and to transmit the results to the ATH system. The PQIS table is the facility for calculating each target quality formulae, using the details from the tanks analysis and the target requirement with engineer defined formulae, manual amendment and the dispatch of the results to a 3rd party system. . The details of each transmission are kept for reporting and applied to the results of loading/pumping that are retrieved from the 3rd party system on a frequent basis (daily/hourly(?). After the installation/depot has been selected, use mouse right-click to activate the solver, transmitting all outstanding PQIS tables to plc system and any Reporting.
Technical Note: The 3rd party system details are located using data from the gf_ctrl50 table. The results transmitted are current tanks analysis (to directory \vax\density\new) and PQIS results (to directory \vax\products\new)
