JNL - Regular Journal Entry

What is JNL

JNL is a journal entry program. There are many options for entering journal documents, they are basically the same but differ in generating different document references. JNL is one of these ways, and is used for very standard journaling e.g. transfer P&L to reserves, stock movements.
Posting to the ledgers is possible if the user has sufficient privilege. The main details needed for describing the transaction (currency, document date, value date, department, etc) are entered here. Upon complete entry, ITAS generates a unique document reference commencing with the letters JL to identify it as a regular journal document.
