Grid References/County
This is the grid reference maintenance option. It is part of the CLICODES subsystem and is used to created, amend and delete this particular type of code. Grid references are a company maintained specification whereby a geographic area (e.g. Ireland), can be graphically coded in the same way as a map. These codes and their description are company nominated, i.e. They do not need to follow established map divisions.
All codes are used for a combination of the following: 1) validation of entries, to ensure correct data entry, 2) grouping of clients or accounts, for reporting or credit/risk analysis and 3) indication for calculations, to define how entered values are to be used.
